My name is Keith Jennings, and I am a second-year student in the MS in Psychology program. My research interests are rooted in social psychology, specifically focusing on moral psychology, affective polarization, and the mechanisms of empathy. I'm fascinated by the lab's core theme of understanding how people adapt to variation. My work applies this concept to the social and political world, exploring how we navigate moral disagreements and adapt (or fail to adapt) to those with different ideological views. I'm especially interested in the cognitive and affective processes that drive polarization and how empathy might serve as a bridge in divided social contexts. I am currently in the process of applying to PhD programs in Social Psychology to continue this line of research. Outside of academics, I love spending my free time outdoors, usually hiking, kayaking or reading.
